about

This is a composite of my prematurely deceased friends, and several ways they have met their demise, all mushed together. Maybe you've lost a few? I am sure there is a running theme tying them together in your mind. Here is my paraphraseology on the matter. Jill Kelly Meade sings hauntingly. Written 3/6/99. Radio bulletin announced spontaneously in vocal booth during lead vocal takes on 9/22/22, and re-recorded 10/6/22 by my pal Tim Doocey. Thunder added for good measure 11/10/22 - the night before release.

lyrics

Radio bulletin:
One the news tonight, tragedy strikes again
On the deadly Horseshoe Curve, in upper Altoona
During the rainstorm this evening
Four young souls are lost to the ages
Witnesses say there was no skid

(I'm gonna miss that guy...)

You will never be forgotten, you will always be here
As part of a network conclusion, you threw yourself from Avalon Pier
You will never be far, always within reach of my hand
Remains collect in a jar
I will wish on a star, you're in peace where you are
And know you're around when I hear the sound

Time will tell if you're lucky, the things you're looking for
The strands of a prior engagement, will wonder where you are
You will never be far, always in the back of my mind
'N going for a ride in your car
I will wish on a star, that you're in peace where you are
And know you're around whenever I hear the sound
Of drums, guitar, so near, so far

(Ya remember that time we hit the tree?)

I will wish on a star, that you're in peace where you are
And know you're around whenever I hear the sound
Of drums, guitar, so near, so far

You will never be forgotten, you will always be here
As part of a network conclusion, you threw yourself from Avalon Pier
